A family makes delicatessen history

At the beginning there was fish. The first chapter of a successful company history was written in 1966 at castle Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. Responsible for this was Eugen Zeitter (1913-1990), who, in the same year, together with his limited partner Rudolf Bruckmann Köln,  founded the Bruckmann KG Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. With fish delicatessen, he put his finger exactly on the taste of that time. Having been the managing director of Nadler-Werke in Sennestadt, he had experience in producing delicatessen, which he was able to incorporate into his own business - the best evidence that it is indeed possible to produce fish dishes even some distance away from the coastline.

With the right instinct for current trends, the fish assortment kept growing. Mayonnaise and remoulade sauces make the heart of any connoisseur beat faster. Today, there are gourmet salads, ketchups, dressings, and dips as well as fish delicacies. In short: a varied range of products under the brand name Le.Picant. The name was given in 1991 when the business split away from the Bruckmann KG  Köln and was re-established as  Le.Picant Feinkost GmbH & Co.KG. Eugen Zeitter's daughter, Susanne Lepper, took over as managing partner.  She was supported by Bernd Schoenfelder, the general manager, who had been working for the company since 1988 and was appointed CEO in 2007. The family business is as down-to-earth and as authentic as the region in which the company is based.  Continuity in management is reflected in the continuous growth of the East-Westphalia company.  Extensive extension and conversion works were carried out during 2007 and 2010, including new storage facilities, state-of-the-art production halls and staff rooms. Our passion for food is reflected in our contemporary product range and quality management. We are proud of the close relationships we have with our customers, our flexible production and logistics and the excellent service we provide. And we know exactly who we have to thank for that: our employees, who breathe life into our company philosophy with know-how and joy.

What acting responsibly means to us: Our main aim as a family business that is run by its proprietor, is not to increase return in the short-term but to preserve the business and to continue family tradition over generations.

We are aware of our obligation to our employees. Honesty, responsibility and social commitment are not just great words but they are the values, which guide our daily work. In the interest of future generations, being sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly is a matter of course.

We do not only think about tomorrow but of the day after too. And we know that there would be no future without our past.
